REGI Standards

File Formats

regidateshorttitle-lan.mp3  -   no spaces, no punctuation, only alphabetic and numeric characters: a-z, 0-9, except for period before mp3 or whatever file extension is needed (eg, mp4).

regi date shorttitle -la n .mp3

- regi= initial string, don't like starting file names with numbers, identifies station

- date=date as in 11-03-06, dashes, not underscore. Note US format, not European, MM-DD-YY.  
- shorttitle= 1 or 2 words, can be shorter than title used on the web page (see below)
- dash = -
- la = en, es, or pa for English, Español, or Papiamentu
- n = number, see below
- .mp3 = file extension, can be changed to mp4. Note the preceding period.

All files names should be in lower case. The title has a dash after it to separate from language.

The numbering needs to be carefully considered for each day. Segments which are in the same language should be grouped together by language in this order: English, Español, Papiamentu, by audience share. The above examples do not order properly by language.

Locations

Podcasts are to go into public_html/podcasts.

New podcasts go into public_html/newpodcasts.

Images go into public_html/images.

Title and Description

Each podcast has 1) Podcast Title, 2) Podcast Description, 3) Filename.  The title is short, 2 or 3 words if possible, excluding prepositions, "and," "or," etc. This is different from the file title in the file name, but should use the words that contains. Title is in broadcast language.

The description is in the broadcast language, with no abbreviations, as it will appear on-line.

The podcasts will be listed as follows:

where N is a podcast number and XX is the file size in megabytes.  Podcasts are grouped by languages and renumbered for each language:

Listing for Main Page

All in upper & lower case. Date first, then language name in lead for short description of segments. Segments are in broadcast language.
